Originally when formed, it was a group of high power rifle shooters who formed into a competitive group. From those roots, it has evolved into a club which offers various rifle and pistol shooting opportunities for those who are interested in the shooting sports.
For about 50 years, the club operated a rifle range on leased land just north of Faribault. In the late 1990’s the club purchased the 64 acres which currently hold the club’s operations. The location is in a remote part of Rice County where wildlife abounds. You will frequently encounter deer, turkeys, pheasants, geese, ducks, coyotes, fox, etc. There is, of course, no hunting allowed on the range.

The range is only open to members. There are no public shooting hours. The range hours are from 8 AM - 8 PM Tuesday through Sunday. It is closed on Mondays unless Monday is a holiday, in which case it is closed on Thursday. These hours are currently dictated by Rice County.

Within the 64 acres there is a 50 yd general purpose bowl with covered firing points, 4 pistol ‘fingers’ from 10 yds to 25 yds, and a 100 to 600 yard high power rifle range.
The rifle range has covered benches on one firing point which allow you to shoot 100, 200, 300, & 400 yards without moving. There is also, a building with 2 benches, for use in winter or inclement weather. The range is set so that all portions can be used at the same time. There is a small building which we use as a clubhouse for meetings, matches, or the like. There is no shotgun facility available.
